Headstock painting after sanding 1st layer with 600 grit sandpaper

Painting the back side (again)

First layer on head stock

The first layer does not look too good as it functions as a primer. The reason I didn't use real primer is the color difference which, because this will be painted on the front of the headstock, may be apparent as a thin layer of white on the side of the headstock

The sandpaper marks are clearly visible in this layer:

A two component, clear finish for floors

Will do the honors of making the fretboard glossy and awesome

Filling dents

I used cyanoacrylate glue to fill some bumps in the wood as it is clear and can be sanded.

The unfortunate dent on the body was made when I carried it unside the house and it hit a wall :/

Ps: metallic colors do not sand well

The fret filler

Wood putty in pine color to give a contrast

This is what it was..

Of course this will be removed and replaced with something smart-sounding as a logo..

De-fretting 2

All frets are out:

The fretboard is in a good condition

The frets, on the other hand, are not:

De-fretting 1

Started with the 24th fret. No glue present but the dents on the fret caused the fretboard to crack a bit. Hopefully this will be removed during the sanding process.

I got a sanding block off ebay to do it:

Another blemish in the fretboard

And a deep one that was.

Toothpicks all over!

There were toothpicks inside EVERY hole in the body and the arm.

Bridge bent

The bridge had a slight bent which is apparent when the bridge was screwed down on the body. Don't know how to fix this...

Unfortunate knobs

The original knobs had been removed and these were put.. Yep.. Someone did a wonderful job there..

The paints that will be used

Cleaned bridge

I used silver polish

While it didn't restore it to its initial state, the result is quite good

The bridge was dirty

A little more curve on the arm rest

I sanded it a little more there so it is now comfortable.

This for the curvy areas

I used a toilet paper roll to and the curvy areas.  It was extra comfortable! Just don't use it afterwards for its primary purpose :0
